~ HOUSE ON THE ROCK ~
What is the meaning of "BUILDING YOUR HOUSE ON THE ROCK"?
MATTHEW 7:24 24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."
This passage clearly states that any profits or businesses we conduct that are within the Lord's Word guidelines, will be consider "BUILDING OUR HOUSE ON THE ROCK!" Two examples; I know two people who built their houses on the sand, not literarily but figuratively.
A man I know was cheating his suppliers with fake receipts in order that he may get more money each month to make ends meet. Today he has a very successful business, And although he cheated his supplier only in the early part of his business, he is still under the curse of stealing from his suppliers, His business is so prosperous that he is not able to find an employee who won't steal from him, therefore he runs his own business himself, thus his business became his prison, and as a result he never had any time to meet the right woman and is still single. He was only 27 years old, on his grand opening he is now 48 years old and still a bachelor, and not by choice. He really wanted to get married, but his business became his wife, and a jealous one at that, never allowing him any free time to enjoy his life. The only luxury he has enjoyed in life is his house and he only goes there to sleep, he spends almost 80 hours a week at his store. The second luxury he enjoys also, is his brand new $100k Mercedes that he gets to drive every day two miles to his store, and two miles back to his house. Last I heard his business is not doing well. He no longer owns a Mercedes.
I also know a woman, who opened up her business with her family's credit cards, then forced them all to file bankruptcy. She was able to keep the business opened for over 14 years. However, the entired 14 years the business was operating, it was always an up hill battle. She worked over 140 hours a week, only getting a couple of hours of sleep a day. She eventually lost her mind and still had to file bankruptcy. Her two daughters grew up without a mom, her youngest was only a baby the day of the grand opening. Her daughter grew up by herself and was 15 years old by the she closed her business down. She eventually became homeless, then she lived in her car for a couple of years.
I know another family who's father built a small wealth by selling beer. Now all of the males in his family are alcoholics.
But people who make their fortune doing what is good in the eyes of the Lord, are able to leave their wealth as an inheritance to their children and to their children's children.
