OBEY, SERVE & WORSHIP GOD
DEUTERONOMY 13:4 It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.
PSALM 150:6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
LUKE 4:8 8 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.
WE SERVE WHOM EVER WE OBEY; ROMANS 6:16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
WE SERVE HIM BY OBEYING HIM & HELPING OTHERS IN NEED PER MATTHEW 25:34-36 For I was hungry and you fed me...
GOD LIVES IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR WORSHIP. WE ARE TO SING SONGS OF WORSHIP TO HIM. PSALM 22:3 But You are holy, Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
BE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
MATTHEW 5:14-16 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
PSALM 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path
THE WORD LIGHT HAS TWO MEANINGS IN MATTHEW 5:14-16 IT MEANS DIFFERENT: IT MEANS THAT WE STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD. IT MEANS THAT OUR BEHAVIOR IS DIFFERENT FROM THE REST OF THE WORLD! IT MEANS THAT WE WILL SHINE IN A WORLD WHERE THERE IS DARKNESS. WHERE LAWLESSNESS IS WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS PRACTICING.
IN PSALMS 119:105 IT MEANS KNOWLEDGE: HOW CAN WE BECOME THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD? WE BECOME THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD BY GUIDING OTHERS INTO RIGHTEOUSNESS. BY TEACHING THEM THE CONTENTS OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES. IT'S SHARING WITH THEM WHAT IS CORRECT BEFORE THE EYES OF OUR LORD. KING DAVID SAID GOD'S WORD WAS A LAMP THAT GUIDED HIS FEET PSALM 119:105 Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. IT MEANS THAT WHEN WE ARE UNCERTAIN TO WHICH COURSE OF ACTION TO TAKE, THE BIBLE WILL SHOW US WHICH PATH TO TAKE, IN ORDER FOR US TO REACH OUR FINAL DESTINATION, SAFELY.
BE THE SALT OF THE EARTH
MATTHEW 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
SALT SERVES TWO PURPOSES: AS A PRESERCATIVE: SALT CAN BE USED AS A PRESERVATIVE TO STOPS MEAT FROM ROTTING; AS A CONDIMENT: TO ADD FLAVORING TO FOOD, IN OTHER WORDS TO 'ENHANCE' THE TASTE OF FOOD.
AS A PRESERVATIVE: WE CAN SHARE THE PLAN OF SALVATION AND GUIDE OTHERS TO SALVATION. BY DOING SO WE WOULD HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THEIR LIFE BEING SAVED.
AS A CONDIMENT: WE CAN ENRICH THE LIFE OF OTHERS BY HELPING THEM DURING THEIR THE WORST TIME OF THEIR LIVES, BY LENDING A HELPING HAND IN THEIR TIME OF NEED. WHETHER, WE ARE ABLE TO HELP FINANCIAL: DURING THEIR TIMES OF FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS; PHYSICALLY: BY CUTTING THEIR LAWN OR COOKING FOR THEM WHEN THEY'RE SICK; TIME: JUST BEING THERE FOR THEM WHEN THEY FEEL LONELY, ETC...
BE A MESSENGER
ACTS 1:88 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
WE ARE TO SHARE THE PLAN OF SALVATION WITH EVERYONE WE COME ACCROSS. WE MIGHT BE THE ONLY OPPORTUNITY THEY HAVE TO HEAR THE PLAN OF SALVATION. WE JUST DON'T KNOW!
HELP THOSE IN NEED
MATTHEW 25:34-36 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
JESUS SAID THAT THOSE WHO HELP OTHERS IN NEED, HELP JESUS HIMSELF!!! WE WERE CREATED TO PERFORM GOOD DEEDS EPHESIANS 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
PREACH
EZEKIEL 3:10-11 And he said to me, “Son of man, listen carefully and take to heart all the words I speak to you. 11 Go now to your people in exile and speak to them. Say to them, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says,’ whether they listen or fail to listen.”
WE ARE GOD'S WATCHMAN. WE ARE TO PREACH TO EVERYONE! WHETHER THEY LISTEN TO US OR NOT, IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SHARE THE MESSAGE OF SALVATION.
SERVE
JOHN 13:4-5, so he (Jesus) got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
JOHN 13:12-15 12 When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
WE ARE CREATED EQUAL! NO ONE IS BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE, THEREFORE, WE ARE TO SERVE ONE ANOTHER. GALATIANS 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
DO NOT BE A STUMBLING STONE
MATTHEW 18:7 Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!
JEREMIAH 17:5 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord.
ALTHOUGH THE SCRIPTURES CONDEMNS THOSE WHO ARE A STUMBLING STONE FOR OTHERS PER MATTHEW 18:7, IT DOES HOWEVER, STILL HOLD EACH INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OWN SALVATION, WHEN IT STATES IN JEREMIAH 17:5 THAT CURSED BE THE MAN WHO TRUSTS IN MAN. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT "THERE IS NOT ONE SINGLE HUMAN BEING ON EARTH WHO DOES NOT SIN!" 1 JOHN 1:8-10. OTHERWISE JESUS' SACRIFICE WOULD'VE BEEN IN VAIN!!!
THE SALVATION OF THE WORLD IS OUR RESPONSABILITY
MATTHEW 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
EZEKIEL 3:17-21 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 18 When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turnfrom their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself. 20 “Again, when a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 21 But if you do warn the righteous person not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself.”
EZEKIEL 33:1-20 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 “Son of man, speak to your people and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword against a land, and the people of the land choose one of their men and make him their watchman, 3 and he sees the sword coming against the land and blows the trumpet to warn the people, 4 then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not heed the warning and the sword comes and takes their life, their blood will be on their own head. 5 Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, their blood will be on their own head. If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people and the sword comes and takes someone’s life, that person’s life will be taken because of their sin, but I will hold the watchman accountable for their blood.’
7 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me. 8 When I say to the wicked, ‘You wicked person, you will surely die,’ and you do not speak out to dissuade them from their ways, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 9 But if you do warn the wicked person to turn from their ways and they do not do so, they will die for their sin, though you yourself will be saved.
10 “Son of man, say to the Israelites, ‘This is what you are saying: “Our offenses and sins weigh us down, and we are wasting away because of them. How then can we live?”’ 11 Say to them, ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel?’
12 “Therefore, son of man, say to your people, ‘If someone who is righteous disobeys, that person’s former righteousness will count for nothing. And if someone who is wicked repents, that person’s former wickedness will not bring condemnation. The righteous person who sins will not be allowed to live even though they were formerly righteous.’13 If I tell a righteous person that they will surely live, but then they trust in their righteousness and do evil, none of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered; they will die for the evil they have done. 14 And if I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,’ but they then turn away from their sin and do what is just and right— 15 if they give back what they took in pledge for a loan, return what they have stolen, follow the decrees that give life, and do no evil—that person will surely live; they will not die. 16 None of the sins that person has committed will be remembered against them. They have done what is just and right; they will surely live.
17 “Yet your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ But it is their way that is not just. 18 If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, they will die for it. 19 And if a wicked person turns away from their wickedness and does what is just and right, they will live by doing so. 20 Yet you Israelites say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ But I will judge each of you according to your own ways.”
GOD IS LOVE! THEREFORE, WE MUST ALL WALK IN LOVE, WE MUST LOVE OTHERS AS MUCH AS WE LOVE OURSELVES, THAT IS THE REASON WHY, HE HAS CHARGED US TO TEACH OTHERS WHAT WE KNOW REGARDING SALVATION. OTHERWISE, WE WILL PAY WITH OUR OWN SALVATION THE DAMNATION OF OTHERS.
